It became famous by The Doors-drummer John Densmore, who has been playing it for decades. The reissue is Ludwig's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Mod Orange finish.

For sale I have a Vintage Ludwig Psychedelic Red Drum Kit from 1968/1969 with custom purple hard cases from Humes and Berg. I purchased the kit in the 20/12/16 configuration four years ago. The seller said that the kit was sitting in a warehouse for 30 years, which I am inclined to believe because the wood seems to be in pretty solid condition.
